I’m Hannah – a teacher, a mom and the person behind The Craft Balloon.

Here at The Craft Balloon you’ll find lots of ideas for simple and fun kids’ crafts that you can make at home. I love to draw and create things, and all of the crafts that you see on this site are tried and tested at home by my kids and I.

Making crafts is a great shared activity to do with kids. Not only is it fun to create and make things, but your also child gets that sense of achievement from seeing a project through from beginning to end.

Whilst making crafts, your child is also honing so many skills: fine motor skills (through cutting, folding, and crumpling paper; holding a pencil to draw or colour etc), perseverance, concentration, patience, to name just a few.

Our crafts are simple to make, bright, colourful and look great displayed on the walls at home or in the classroom.

Our crafts are divided into ‘kids crafts’, ‘preschool crafts’ and ‘holiday crafts’ in an effort to help you find what you are looking for.

Each craft has clear, step by step instructions, and you’ll be pleased to hear that many include a template which you can download and print out at home (hooray for not having to draw everything by hand!).

Each of our crafts has a ‘what you will need’ list at the top so you can check you have everything you need before your kids set about crafting. Our crafts use materials that are easy to find or that you may already have in the house somewhere.
