Gnome Craft

A sweet yet simple gnome craft. Easy to make at home with the help of our printable template.
It’s fair to say that gnomes are very popular in our house.
My children love gnome stickers, gnome stuffies and they are even campaigning for a gnome for the garden (which I have so far resisted).
So today we’re going to make a gnome. This kid’s gnome craft is made from a printable two-page template, which you can find in our Etsy store.
If you want to make this gnome craft at home with your kids or at school with your students, grab the template and follow the instructions below.
But first, supplies…
What you will need?
Like all of our craft templates, only a few supplies are needed. They are:
- colouring supplies
- craft template (find it here in our Etsy store)
- scissors
- glue stick
How to make a gnome paper craft, step by step
Step 1
Start by printing out the two-page gnome craft template.

If possible, print onto card stock as this makes the finished gnome a bit sturdier. Plus, if your children are going to paint the gnome, paper will go a bit wrinkly, so card is definitely better.
Step 2
The next step is to colour the different parts of the gnome. Your child can use whatever colours and supplies they would like. We used colouring pencils, but paints or crayons would work well too.

We opted to leave the gnome’s beard white.
Step 3
Next, cut out all the different pieces of the gnome. Younger children may need some help with this step. Remind your children not to cut off the glue tabs.

Step 4
Next, it’s time to assemble the gnome.
Start by putting glue on ‘glue tab 1’. Then, align the top of the beard (not the top of glue tab 2) with the top of glue tab 1 and press down.
When you turn the craft over at this stage, you should see the glue tab poking out the top

Step 5
Next put glue on ‘glue tab 2’ and press on the gnome’s hat.

Step 6
And finally, add the finishing touch: the gnome’s nose. Attach this so that the top of the nose is touching the hat.

And your gnome craft is complete!
