- snowman printable (with hat, carrot nose and bow tie)
How to make the a paper plate snowman
Step 1
Start by printing out the snowman printable which has on it the snowman’s hat, carrot nose, and bow tie.
You can find the printable at the bottom of the post – it’s free for subscribers!

Step 2
There are two options for decorating the snowman’s accessories.
Firstly, you can paint them! Children can enjoy choosing their own paint colours.

Or an alternative is to trace round the different shapes onto cardstock and then cut them out.

Like so:

Step 3
Next it’s time to add the different items to the snowman.
Start by adding the hat. You can glue this on to the paper plate, or use a piece of tape.
We turned out paper plate over so that we were using the back of the plate as the face (so it stuck out, rather than being concave).

Step 4
Next, add the bow tie and the carrot nose. Again, use either glue or tape.

Step 5
Add the eyes and mouth to the snowman face. Start by drawing in pencil until you get everything just as you want it.
You can draw the eyes on, as we did, or you could also stick on googly eyes too.

Experiment with different types of eyes and mouths to create different faces.
Step 6
If they want to, children could add their own additional decorations to the snowman: add glitter to the bow tie or a strip of paper or piece of tinsel to the hat.

And your paper plate snowman is finished!
