Simple Sheep Paper Craft

This sweet sheep is simple to make and a is great spring craft for children of all ages

Today’s craft is a fun one for the springtime and would be a fantastic activity as part of a farm or barnyard theme. Yes, it’s a sheep!

This sheep is full of character, and yet super simple to make. It’s made from a template and has just three parts to put together.

The cutting out is not too fiddly (you don’t have to cut out the legs!) so it’s a great craft for younger kids too.

If you want to see how to make this sweet sheep craft, read on to find out how.

What You Will Need

You won’t need much in terms of supplies for this craft. All you’ll need is:

  • scissors
  • gluestick
  • colouring supplies (paint, colouring pencils or crayons will work)

How to make this sheep craft, step by step

Step 1

Print the two-page template. If possible, print onto card stock, otherwise paper will work just fine.

Step 2

Colour the different parts of the sheep, with the exception of the sheep’s white wool, which we left blank.

We used acrylic paint as it covers really well in just one coat and we love the bright bold colours. Crayons or colouring pencils will also work well though (and are less messy!).

Step 3

Cut out all the parts of the sheep.

The shapes are pretty simple to cut but very young children may want some help, particularly cutting around the sheep’s head and ears.

Step 4

Put glue on the back of the sheep’s body and press this firmly onto the background like so:

Step 5

Next add the sheep’s head. Place it at whichever angle you want.

Extras:

Want to spruce up your sheep? You can add some cotton wool onto the sheep’s body and top of head to make it woolly if you like.

If you’re gluing on cotton wool, we find that white glue (rather than a glue stick) works really well.
